2011 Small World Judges Announced

Nikon Instruments, Inc. announced today the judges for the 2011 Nikon Small World Photomicrography Competition – the preeminent forum for showcasing the beauty and complexity of life as seen through the light microscope. Now in its 37th year, the competition has featured some of the most esteemed names in science and science journalism on its judging panel, and this year is no exception.

The judges for the 2011 competition are:

• Simon Watkins, Ph.D., Professor and Vice Chairman for Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at the University Of Pittsburgh School of Medicine; Founder and Director, University of Pittsburgh Center for Biologic Imaging

• Richard Day, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology, Indiana University School of Medicine

• Michael W. Davidson, Director of the Optical and Magneto-Optical Imaging Center at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University
