Dr. Philippe P. Laissue
Dr. Philippe Laissue is an imaging specialist with a focus on developing methods for quantitative microscopy. His main expertise is in vivo fluorescence microscopy and quantified image analysis, using multi-scale approaches and fluorescent proteins, for biological and biomedical applications.
The result of these efforts has led to some incredible imagery. Laissue has placed twice in recent years for these images in Nikon’s Small World Competition, and took first place in 2019 for his video of a polyp of a reef-building staghorn coral.
