Life in a microscopic forest. These microbial communities are formed by different creatures. Here we can see a tree-like bell animalcule (Zoothamnium arbuscula) and a young bryozoan. The microscopic forests (biofilms) are very attractive to plankton organisms just to that water flea. The food organisms of fish graze often close to biofilm.
