Teresa Kugler learned the various techniques required to take scientific photos as a biomedical photographic communications student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She put these talents to great use at the Marine Biological Laboratory where she and fellow intern Teri Zgoda created a colorful image of a turtle embryo, captured using fluorescence and stereomicroscopy. The image was so impressive it went on to win first place in the 2019 Small World competition.
